Exercising my lazy left leg.....

Back from my last ski holiday to three valleys and now facing the prospects of 8 snow free months.... I have decided to make good use of the time and get my legs to equal skill....
On an excellent lesson (with Greg from Marmalade ski school in Val Thorens ) I learned that my left leg is nowhere near as efficient as my right and saw video evidence of same....
I realized that all the times I have fallen it has been facing left; all the forced stops from fear and subsequent freezeups - yup, facing left.
What I need is suggestions to strengthen the brain to left foot connection.....
Here's what have so far:
Ice and roller skating with an emphasis on left footedness,
Standing on each foot with eyes closed and balance on the other (this is from my 'Heal your own knees' book which discusses the amazing fact that people who complain of sore knees nearly all have poor proprioception (which means the brain not being very good at knowing what the body is doing ) I can balance for up to a minute on my right foot (eyes closed) but am hard pushed to reach 20 seconds on my left.....
I'm tempted to take up skateboarding on my left foot but fear the consequences at my ripe old age.
Any other ideas?

Re:Exercising my lazy left leg.....

I used to be better at turning one way than the other, until I got my new ski boots which were adjusted to correct my faulty stance. And now I think I'm about equally good turning both ways.

Have you tried getting your stance analyzed to see if this is the problem? They found that one of my legs is more turned in than the other one, and my weight wasn't correctly distributed on my feet.

Re:Exercising my lazy left leg.....

Hi Jadavi,
I had it done at Profeet in London, on the Fulham road, but there are other places that also do it.

I wrote an account of it here:
http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/8320.page
