What's everybodies three fav resorts?And I mean ski resorts,so no Barbados or Skegness!!!

2. Arosa

3. Difficult but could be between Val D'Isere, Engelberg, Heavenly, Saas Fee, St Anton, Kitzbuhel, Sierra at Tahoe, Solden, Les Menuires (for the La Masse sector) or even Alpe D'Huez and Cervinia.

I assume we are talking top 3 we have been to, as oppose to top 3 we want to go to?

Ok:

1: St Moritz
2: Verbier
3: St Anton

I don't think you can get much better than that. I loved Monterosa but in terms of whats on offer etc I think these 3 take the biscuit

Still scratching my head over my top 3. What I can say is , 'I've never had a bad ski-holiday'. It won't make my final list but I think the most fun I ever had was in Borovets: a fantastic crowd of us (10 from Manchester and 3 from Glasgow). Some of us had never met before, but we got on like the proverbial house on fire from the moment we all met at Sofia airport. Proves that while the choice of resort can be important, the choice of company is even more so.

Difficult to narrow it down to 3 only as could have easily been others, e.g:
1. La Tania/Courchevel
2. Lech
3. St Anton

2. 3 valleys (if i can count that as 1) if not, courcheval

Meribel/3 Valleys, the vast amount of runs and off piste are hard to beat
Alpe d'Huez, love the place
Loved Morzine/Avoriaz for the skiing
But its hard to leave out anywhere in Italy for the food and the people.

Gaz, I always thought st Moritz was out of my league, but we found a cost effective way to do it and everyone who went on the trip would agree it was fantastic skiing.
The slopes were empty as the toffs all want to shop or eat during the day. Grooming is outstandingly good. And there's a great choice of slopes on 2 mountains. I have not idea why you'd think it wouldn't be good for a week when you went on a day trip, especially coming from livigno which I've always thought wouldn't be enough for a week.

I can honestly say the skiing here was top notch, and yes there's plenty of off piste to go at as well although we didn't actually do much. Definitely more off piste over on corvatsch. It's a wonderful place to ski, iconic scenery with the frozen lake down below, and high altitude so guaranteed snow.

I'd go back at the drop of a hat, for the right price of course :wink:

Favourite three? Depends on numerous combinations:- Price, country, group, ages, family, etc. but my three would be Zermatt, Vail and Madonna di Campiglio.

I really don't have a top three resorts I could maybe turn it upside down to three resorts for various reason that are my least favorite ......

1. St Anton ( Far too busy near to being dangerous )

2. Pas de la Casa ( If I had ever visted Maguluf it could be the snow version )

3. Adelboden ( Skiing was good lift system sucked )

1=: St. Anton. Loved the drunken carnage in 'Happy Valley!' :lol:

1=: Gressoney-la- Trinite. In many ways the 'polar opposite' to St. Anton, but no less enjoyable.

3: Tignes. Epic ski area. Only scratched the surface in December. Can't wait to go back.

So people keep telling me I'm missing out having not skied Tignes/val but I've always been put off by stories of crowded slopes, long lift queues, high prices for food and drink, the moonscape type scenery, etc

Am I wrong and should I really be planning a trip here???

Check out the photos of the group trip to Tignes in January to see it's not all moonscape Tony and there is loads to do and we didn't have to queue for any lifts except the Funicular and that's to be expected.

You were right about Livigno. We skied it out by the end of the week and the day trip to St. Moritz helped keep it interesting. We spent our day on the Corviglia; the standard of piste-grooming was second to none and seemed to make everyone (including ourselves :D ) look like good skiers.

While the skiing there was excellent, it was the general ambience of St. Moritz that made me feel like I wouldn't want to spend more than a day there.I tried to leave the 'chip on my shoulder' behind in Livigno but still found a pervading air of middle-aged stuffiness. I suppose I was happier among my own kind; The 'peasants' :lol: :lol: :lol:

Zermatt might be 4. Not done St Anton. Do like other less fashionable resorts too - Flaine & Valloire, and also liked Alpe d'Huez. Hard one!

Three excellent resorts all offering somehting different. Depending on holiday requirements the order could change, but if im honest i would be happy skiing in my back garden if we had enough snow :)

3. La Plagne (Montalbert)

Have always tended to go for smaller less commercial places with good easy lift access to larger ski areas but ski back home able, tend to find them cheaper and more friendly. Also stayed on occasion in bigger towns such a Cervinia and Selva and found them a little soulless, always had good skiing everywhere so that's the main thing Could anybody suggest other similar places?
