I like to ask you a question about snowboarding and stroke.

Before that, I was a paramedic in New York City. Unfortunately, I have stroke, 5 years ago.

Before the stroke, I was good! I after the stroke, go to snowboard a lot of times, but then fall down a lot of time, also.

Do I always fall down all the time, or what do I do for me personally.

Thanks a lot.

Avi
agolden@pobox.com

Re: I like to ask you a question about snowboarding and stroke.

Hi Avi, welcome.
I am no expert in either medicine or snowboarding!
A very close friend of mine had a stroke about 3 years ago, hers happened as a consequence of surgery on a her skull, it left her blind in one eye, that along with the weakness on one side means her balance is way off what it used to be.
It strikes me that it would be normal for you to struggle to find your form on a snowboard again. Hopefully your enjoying yourself? I imagine you have impact shorts/knee pads etc so your falls don't bruise you up too much!
Maybe a physiotherapist could help you? I'm guessing that post stroke you would have had functional PT, which would have been more concerned with getting you back to being independent instead of focused sports PT?
Doing something like pilates could help, as it is good for core strength, flexibility and balance.
Good luck x
