skiiing in Oberau

Hi all, some help on the below would be much appreciated. I am a novice skier and I have only been to Norway. I have recently booked a ski hol in Oberau Austria for the last week in March. Can anyone advise if the snow will be appropriate? I went to Norway late April last yr and the ski conditions were fantastic, will it be the same? I know the weather can not be predicated, but this is the ski season isn?t it?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Kim - Can't answer your question, but we are also going to Oberau that week! Maybe see you there (hopefully on the slopes).

Hi Kim

I retuned from Oberau on the 10th Feb and to be honest the snow wasn't too great. There was however just about enough coverage to ski but the slopes were very icy. I am not sure if it has snowed there since we retuned but according to our rep the week before we arrived the slopes were completely green. I am sure you will get some snow before then. I would seriously recommend a trip to Allfach if you have limited snow in oberau. It is a free bus ride away and takes about 15 mins. There was plenty of snow and it is a little more advanced than Oberau. We stayed at the Hotel Tirolerhof and coul not fault the stay at all. It was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. The hotel is directly on the slopes next to the lift and ski school. Great if you have children. Where are you staying? I hope you have a good time and get some well deserved snow.
