It's horrible having your kit stolen :(

I've used one of these for several years. The cable is quite a lot thicker than the usual retractable cable locks sold to skiers. Works via a key.

http://www.safeman.de/index.php?cID=12

Re:Recommendation for Ski Lock

I just use a good combination lock and a small length of chain to wrap around the bindings. Works fine....thieves usually act quick so as not to get attention and thus anything that slows them up usually deters them.

A friend of mine told me he splits his skis up , well separated in the rack....he reckons that that finding the two matching skis is far to difficult for most in the short time available to nick them!!

Re:Recommendation for Ski Lock

I have my name at the top of my skis, so that is a deterent, and in Niederau, the lifties would know.

We also split skis, and try to do them at least three ways. We take our time, and have a good look around at the people sat near. If there are baddies, and they see you have clocked them, that is a deterent.

If I am on my K2 200cm skis, I just drop them in the rack, few people are likely to be attracted, and if they are, I could probably catch them up.......
