An Apology to my fellow J2Skiers

I feel it is time that I should write you all an apology :oops:

I have had a lot of work going on in the last week or so and have not been able to keep up my usual levels of Wibble

I know this is not acceptable behaviour and more should be expected of the king of Wibble :(

Normal service will be resumed on Sunday :thumbup:

I have been struggling to Wibble Along without you, but it has been very difficult at times :lol:

I have been the Wibble Queen for a couple of years, and it's really great to have a Wibble King as well now :thumbup:

Not at all. My boss has gone to Canada on holiday - text me last night to tell me he is going skiing today :twisted:

You mean - maybe we need to define Wibble, so that we know when we're wibbling off the Wibble?

I reckon myself, if it's any help, that this whole thread is Wibble and what the King meant was that he hadn't been producing ENOUGH Wibble lately but that he will be increasing the Wibble production as from Sunday, when he gets the Wibble Machine going :lol:

If I had to define Wibble as used on J2Ski, I think I would say it's amusing nonsense. But I reckon there has to be no nastiness in it, explicit or implied.

And, generally speaking, when I am Wibbling there is also some educational content (if you look very carefully) - because I'm always interested in finding out about new things.

So, for example, I was wondering to myself when Wibbling first started and I thought of Edward Lear and his nonsense poetry, like 'The Owl and the Pussy-Cat' which was written in 1871. And I looked it up and discovered that he started to write a sequel to this, about the children of the marriage, which goes like this:

Our mother was the Pussy-cat,
our father was the Owl,
And so we're partly little beasts
and partly little fowl,

The brothers of our family
have feathers and they hoot,
While all the sisters dress in fur
and have long tails to boot.

And I realized that it's a very good way of describing J2Skiers and the way we all vary so much :lol:

Well that is certainly true Tony - are you any good at hoovering, cleaning toilets, ironing etc.? It's amazing how hard it is to get really skilled cleaners these days for our holiday cottages :wink: :lol:

We're so far West that the population here is almost entirely British - born and bred for generations.

Even the Catholics don't seem particularly good at cleaning. I was at a Catholic christening service yesterday and at the party afterwards in their church hall, and I volunteered to do the washing up for about 100 guests, and I was amazed at the state of the sink. I had to go to the local shop and buy some Cif and a scouring pad to give it a really good clean. And I also had to clean the wall all around the bin etc.

I had to promise to give up Satan and Sin (as part of the deal with being a godmother) so I'm not sure I will be able to Wibble any more :cry:

I really liked the photo Dids put up of the fence made out of old skis, so I thought I'd have a look to see if I could find any more uses for recycled skis.
This is an article about recycling old skis, with a couple of photos:

And this is a company in Vermont who make skis into coat-racks, chairs etc. They will make them out of your own old skis/snowboards if you want. I can't put the pictures up on their own (only the link to their website) because they have specifically asked people not to.
I particularly liked the wind chimes made out of old ski poles and the bird houses with skis on the roof :D

I'm glad you liked the wine rack made from recycled skis. It only cost $58 dollars but they won't post internationally.

I was just wondering if the holidaymakers would think the skis were for water ski-ing which would let me get away with a theme like that, seeing that the cottages are by the sea.

Is there any difference between alpine skis and water skis? (I've never been water ski-ing).
