Leaky boots

So how about this i purchased some new boots in the summer from a well know ski shop in the midlands, a pair of Lange boots and by the time they had used bespoke liners and other bits and bobs on the boots the final bill was GBP250 which i wasn't planning of spending that much but hey i thought comfort is paramount here, took them back for a adjustment as big toe was hurting any way off to Colorado we went and in the powder moisture was getting into the boot on investigation i had found that the liner didn't meet properly down the top of my foot hence the moisture, i phone the shop and the told me to bring them back ( 60 mile round trip )and i was shocked when the assistant said 'just put some duct tape over the join and all will be ok' well will i be going back there again i think not

Re:Leaky boots

It's the sign of a regular skier, so wear your duct tape with pride. Many boots suffer from leaking snow in at the bottom of the arch overlap. You can get coloured taped to match the boots better.

My old Fischers

Mine do too, thats why drying them at the end of the day is a good tip and also essential to stop that furry green stuff

Re:Leaky boots

Thanks Guy's for the advice, my old Nordica boots were spot on and very rarely leaked but they did have the oem lining, i am supprised this lining has a bad join along the top of it the snow getting between the liner and the boot is always going to happen but if there is a gap on the liner then the heat from your foot will melt the snow and make it wet inside the boot,i am just supprised that's all, my pals boots don't ' leak ' either
