Bus from Val d'Isere to Geneva?

Hey guys :-)

Has anyone got any tips from how to get down from Val d'Isere to Geneva in the week? Struggling to find good options - everything seems to be at the weekend or very expensive :S

The bus service from Geneva Gare Routier runs daily and so does the return service. Phone number for Gare Routier Val d'Isere is +33.479.06.00.42. You need to call them to book a seat. It's a regular bus service and will be the cheapest option, though not necessarily cheap since it's a long journey. The last time I used the bus service it was 90 Swiss francs return to Chamonix, which is next door and just over 1hr. away, so it will definitely be more expensive to Val d'Isere. I would say expect to pay twice as much. You can go to Gare Routier Geneva website (google for address) and choose "stations aplines" in the menu to get the winter schedule and numbers for reservation.

You might be lucky and find a chalet company or TO who'd allow you on their transfer coach/minibus, although I expect Verbier_ski_bum is right and the bus is the best option.

I know these people do it for GBP40 one way from Tignes to Geneva (and vice versa) but they leave Tignes early evening and you'd have to get from Val d'Isere to Tignes:

http://www.mountainsunltd.com/special_offers/view/low-cost-airport-transfers

Ally
Re:Bus from Val d'Isere to Geneva?

Thanks for the info guys - have actually found a really good company (recommended by a friend) called altibus - they go straight from Val d'Isere to Geneva for 60 euros - seems pretty good so have booked as takes the hassle of trains etc out :-) they also go from all the other major airports, and don't seem to charge the earth.
