3 Valleys Lift Pass

I am out for 3 days skiing later this month and will load my lift pass on line although have not tried to do this before.

Looking at the prices for this season a 3 day 3 valleys pass for an adult is 144 EU. As my skiing days are Thursday, Friday & Saturday, will I be allowed to buy a 2 day pass which is 96.80 EU and a "Journey 3 Valleys Saturday pass" which this year has 20% off and is only 38.50 EU.

Making the total for 3 days 135.50 EU instead of 144 EU.

Wouldn't everyone do this? I cannot see anywhere on the S3V website which says you cannot do this.

Can anyone comment?

Thanks

Odd anacronisms over offers on lift passes have always been around.

I wonder if for most holidaymakers the complexity of buying a pass for this day and another for that is just not worth the hastle?

Ah but now you can load your little plastic card on-line it should not be any hassle but it might not let me do it!

E-mail them and ask: backoffice@s3v.com

they responded to me within a couple of days.

Or have you got spare skip@ss (blue) from another resort? for example an Alpe d'huez pass can be 'recharged' on the 3V system. If so, why not put one purchase on the first card and the other on the second [only carry one at a time in your pocket though!)
Re:3 Valleys Lift Pass

Did you pay the extra for your existing lift pass not all are POS passes, only these can be reloaded

I am not sure about the 20% off on Saturdays I have a 3v liberty pass which does give 20% off Saturdays but I had to pay 30euro for this initially to benefit from the discounts

I would suggest trying to load the card as you have suggested but beware it could end up costing you more, not sure if you can cancel once purchased
Good luck

You pay Euro3 the first time for the card...You're right it must say "Skip@ss" on it and I understand it must be the ones written in blue (not black)

More from the 3V web site:

"Different types of pass cards available:
Free pass card, load once at the cash desks, > usable with all types of passes except for season passes.

The Euro3 P@S card, reloadable from your home or other locations for your next stays => usable with all types of passes.
The cards can be replaced in case of loss or theft, in this event, one day will be taken off the pass and a fee of Euro10 will be required."

Re:3 Valleys Lift Pass

I know I paid Euro3 for it last year and bought it home so I could use it again but am unsure now if it is a P@S card. Will be gutted if its not as really wanted to sort it in advance. It does say on the website that you can cancel for a full refund upto 24 hours before so if i buy the wrong thing I should be able to get my cash back. I will have to wait until I get home to check it now!

Re:3 Valleys Lift Pass

Well I am quite interested in how those very clever P&S cards work.

I was very surprised at something that happened to me last time I was ski-ing. I bought a ski pass just for the Meribel valley (because it's a lot cheaper than the 3V pass), and then the ski instructor said that the following day we'd be going to another valley. So I bought a one day extension to the 3V pass. But then we didn't go so I went back to the office to cancel it and change it to the following day, but the woman said it would work okay.

And the following day, when we did ski to Courchevel, my pass worked perfectly.

So, I am wondering if the start date you buy the pass for doesn't actually matter and it just goes from the first day you use it. When you re-charge the cards on the internet they always ask you for the start date. But if my theory is correct then if you turned up a day late you'd still get the same number of days on your pass. Has anyone tried this?

And I think it's very interesting that P&S cards for other resorts will also work. I didn't know that and I bought a new card for the new resort, so I wasted 3 euros.

Ally
