Burton Mitts with an inner stretch glove. They have a zip on the back to allow for hand warmer inserts or for it to be used as a vent. I have had no problems with them.

Also look for inner/under gloves - very thin, usually silk or sometimes Merino - available at many ski shops and work very well. Obviously have the advantage that you can leave them at home on the milder days.

Many technical jackets also come with glove liners attached to the sleeve, so consider those next time you're buying a new ski jacket.

HTH.

I got a pair of Dakine ones as they were the cheapest on sale at Hemel. Turns out they are very warm and a great purchase.

Some mittens are better than others, but unless you want to ski with a bed quilt wrapped around each hand, you will need an additional heat source on very cold days. If you suffer from cold hands (for what ever medical reason), no regular glove/mitten alone will be enough. Charcoal hand warmers the easiest way solve the problem.

People seem to swear by hestra but they are v pricey. I was reading about some electronically heated gloves the other day that a Raynauds sufferer was real impressed with I think the manufacturer was ANSAI but I have no idea how costly they were.

I'm a big fan of Hestra gloves. Yes, they are more expensive, however mine have lasted 3-4 times longer than other ski gloves I've owned. I've just purchased replacement fleece liners for mine, which is another Hestra plus.

Edge & Wax sell a wide range of Hestra's, with a sale on currently.

http://www.edgeandwax.co.uk/
