Re:Night Skiing in Soll

Not Soll but saw in Saalbach - seemed you had to be off your trolley, 17 and of Dutch origin to do it. That said remember if you have had a full day's skiing then your body might be saying slow down take it easy (and this is when injuries occur) so just remember that the next morning the body might not fly into action like you hoped it would. That said it is fun to do/watch - but can get very cold, so wrap up well!

Re:Night Skiing in Soll

Having just returned from Scheffau, I have in my hand an up to date piste map for the area, on which are a couple of floodlit runs in Soll. However, in small print it says:-

Note - Night skiing in Soll and night tobogganning in Soll and Ellmau/Going are not included in any of the Skiwelt/Kitzbuhel/Tiroler Snow card prices. Individual rates apply.

It doesn't seem to state anywhere what the price actually is I'm afraid.

Re:Night Skiing in Soll

Try the toboganning in Soll, its good craic. The route for the night skiing can get very bumpy after the day.

Re:Night Skiing in Soll

The lift pass is separate :x

I haven't done it but have thought about it, especially as we tend to arrive in the resort around mid-afternoon when we head there for long weekends. I don't think I would have any interest after a full days skiing.

They have a reasonable amount of piste lit up and if you are enthusiastic, it could be worthwhile. Not sure what conditions would be like - if snow is generally good, I would expect pistes to be nice but if they are tending towards icy, I would expect them to be worse after dark when the mercury drops :x

The good news is that I think not too many do this and the slopes are usually pretty empty.

Re:Night Skiing in Soll

Last years Quiz Night prize was a night skiing pas and one of the guys in our hotel won - he and his son had a brilliant time. Don't think it's available every night though. Like wanderer don't fancy doing it after a full days skiing. Don't think I could !! Off to Soll tomorrow & sooooooexcited!

Re:Night Skiing in Soll

you can buy a pas for 21Euro. I think Soll has the biggest night ski area in austria( maybe even in europe or the world) something like 15km. A few good runs and the park is lite.
it's open from saturday to wednes day if I can remember correctly
I'm off to Ellmau in a few hours, but after a night of driving and a day of boarding, no night skiing for me, just pares skiing :D
