Bergamo airport - family resorts not too far (suprise present) help!

Managed to find some good flights in Bergamo - I'm a non skier, my husband and eldest 2 are snowboarders and the little one (5yrs) skis. I'm thinking of booking it as a surprise 3 night break for my husbands birthday. Can anyone advise on resorts no more than 2hrs (pref less) transfer.

As a no skier a pretty resort would be nice, and no requirement for a car to drive to the slopes.

Any ideas or resort names very welcome then I can research them (whilst he's at work!)

We do love apres ski and hence usually go to Austria but the flights are pricey - if anyone has knowledge of places with some life shout up!

Many thanks in advance
I think you will be lucky to find less than a two hour transfer!
modonna di campiglio is a very nice town and the ski area is huge but its at least 3.5hours
Ponti de legno is closer at about 2.5 great skiing but mostly reds also cable car access up to Passo tonale, not sure what town is like though.
Temu is next to ponti also nice town but has an evil black run back into town.
It would be cheaper to hire a car to drive up,and dont forget snow chains!
ian

60km from Bgy , 1 hr

Carona, Foppolo, and San Simone are linked resorts, all on same lift pass

Buy your ;ift pass, from hotel, if poss, cheaper

Carona , prettiest village, two hotels in carona, one 300m to lift other about 500m

Foppolo not as pretty, but lots of accom . San Simone one hotel, but will be dead at night,

Foppolo and Carona link lifted, San Simone linked by bus (from Foppolo)(or hire car if you have one)

Each resort has approx 30km of pistes, small resorts but handy from Bgy

Would reccomend Carona as base , hotels approx 60e HB, nice town

have been three times, we hire a car, but poss to bus it, Bus from airport to city bus depot, bus to Piazza Brembena, bus to Foppolo or Carona. Some of the hotels will pick u up at airport, if you are staying for a few nights

The bigger resorts are further from Bgy
