I've never skied with a back pack but this year I'm tacking my daughter to Kaprun, to keep the cost down we will be tacking a picnic for lunch. dose anyone have a suggestion for a good back pack?

Re:Back Pack for Skiing

Something that's easy to get off, for when you get on a chairlift :)

I use a relatively small-sack for snacks/camera/drinks etc. It also has elastic strapping on the front, which hold my 8yo's ski's/poles quite went.

Re:Back Pack for Skiing

Despite signs, I would say that at least 90% of folk don't take theirs off on a chair lift

Mine is a slim one from tog24 just enough for a bladder, fleece, goggles and mars bar

Re:Back Pack for Skiing

I find I get very dehydrated very quickly, so water is a must for me, hence why I've bought a small backpack with bladder. Other than that, it's a bottle of water that always ends up squished within an hour or two!

Plus, slimline jackets are not necessarily the roomiest of clothing, and whilst I've enough give in mine to ski comfortably, I don't fancy cramming stuff into pockets.

I'd never get into a slim line jacket, it is horses for courses, just because I don't see the point in waring one , it does not mean anybody else should not wear one ......... just make sure you take it off in mountain restaurents as I have had to get grumpy with many back pack wearers in the past, one even knocked my expresso over, but I did make him buy me two back
