Excited about skiing soon ?

OK, it seems that everyone has been a little emotional about the snow risk recently, but now its here who's some what over excited, or is it just me?

I keep waking up about 4:30-5 am to look at the cams! yes i know its still too early but i cant help it :)

I look on here, holiday websites, webcams, ski clothing websites, etc many times every day at this time of year. I am close to exploding, especially as I am on the verge of booking for January.

Me too! got the dates, 7th jan...just need the right price in a paticular hotel. :D

I agree, the lack of snow did worry me, but lo and behold it arrived in the nick of time !

Now i can not wait to go away in Jan for 9 weeks ! :D

Mrs TP thinks I am addicted to web cams and weather forecast's, I think she is right.

However, more snow coming next week.... :D

Nelly, I know what you mean, I don't know why I look at webcams in June but still do ??? what's that all about?

Have been packed and ready to go for 5 weeks waxed skis 3 times and doing them again dont go for another 13 days 8hrs and 45mins !

Nelly, I know what you mean, I don't know why I look at webcams in June but still do ??? what's that all about?

I have my favourites, and I also check the webcams throughout the year, just to see what everywhere is like without snow.

I love the Val Disere and Tignes webcams, I've obviously checked them religiously recently, so much so that Mr Nelly is now querying if I want to go back there.

Which of course I do, Val D is my favourite resort in the whoe wide world! (for now).

Love Val, went last year but my fave is Banff, I wish I was going next week but am looking forward to Chamonix.

I've been twice so far :mrgreen: Seriously though, we are finally cold enough to make enough snow to open most ski areas fully around here. Last year we had been skiing three/four weeks already, so it's not just Europe that has problems. I think the US east coast is behind schedule as well.

Have been working down in London this week with a group of American lawyers. All the East coasters kept referring to ice!

I did find out that the boss of their legal company, (which is not too far from you, Trencher) has a condo in Steamboat Springs. I had already met the boss in Manchester in June, but did not know about the ski connection. Man, am I about to try and start to milk that knowledge!

For skiers in the US, there are three regions; the West Coast the Rockies, and the Ice Coast.

I know, but I am sorely tempted by the ice coast. I have good friends there, it is cheaper to get there. I would guess that the lift pass is lower cost.

But you cannot beat the Rockies! :-)
