Ski or motorbike gloves

Trying to find some nice ski gloves but cant see any I like.
I have found loads of motorcycle gloves which I like such as dainese and alpinestars.
Would I look like a bell end wearing motorcycle gloves on the slopes?

yeah I do like the hestra army gtx xcr gloves but not enough to pay the wonga

I have a pair of Salomon gloves brought them about three years for GBP35 on the internet they still look brand new, although most damage to ski gloves are from the edges of skis when carrying, I have never experienced this as Little W carries my skis, isn't that what kids are for :thumbup:

I have a pair of Dakine, cost about GBP40 4 years ago. Still great condition & I dont have a elf to carry my skis :D

I am sure there is a plethora of gloves out there that will suit without going down the bike route? You wearing a motorcycle lid too? :)

I usually buy gloves based on their quality and warmth, and when they're in a sale.

I would like a 2nd pair of white leather ones, but thats just being greedy and vain.

Yep, I cant see any I like.

Comfort does come into it.

Not overly bothered about warmth because I dont feel the cold.

Wait until you have frost bite....your gloves may look nice but your fingers won't....

I have a set of Burton mitts, think they cost me GBP40-GBP50 but by god they are good. Really warm and they have a zip on the back which can be opened as an air vent for hot days or you can insert hand warmers for cold ones. Plus they came with stretch inner gloves which stop the mitt from smelling of sweat and make it loads easier to do things like adjusting the volume on your ipod or taking a sweet out of your pocket whilst on the lift ;)

They have been used loads over the last few years and the only thing wrong with them is a small ice burn.

I got myself some Reusch jobbies from Tacky-maxx a couple of years back. I'd gone through 4 pairs before these, from Salomon, Gordini and some cheapo brand. By the construction of the Reusch gloves they could practically be for motorbiking, the leather on the palm and between the thumb and index finger is very hard wearing and doesn't seem to have succumbed to the ski edges at all.

Hestra's, choose some with the removable fleece liner, as you can opt for a thinner liner if you are too warm. Extra liners from Edge & Wax in the UK. Hestra's have been the only gloves ski I have owned that have not been cut by ski edges. Present pair around 5 years old.

As for wearing motorcycle gloves, yeah why not, if you want your gloves with pre-formed fingers and knuckle armour :D

One of the guys I ski with has worn motorcycle (not sure what make)gloves for the last 2 years with no problem.
