Gloves! I just can't decide

I've had Mens Quiksilver carpal gloves for the last two years and they've now had it and I need some new ones but just can't decide on whether to stay with Quiksilver or try a different brand. Anyone got any they would like to recommend?

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

I prefer a two part glove, where the shell and liner come apart.
Great for drying and also when it is hot (just use the shell).

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

I personally hate those type of gloves, I find them quite annoying when every time you take your glove off the liner comes out to. I had a pair like that a few years ago. I've been looking at getting a pair of North Face gloves.

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

Maybe there are worth a try. Are they North Face montana's? (see link)

http://www.gaynors.co.uk/products-The-North-Face-Mens-Montana-Glove_100201440006.htm

The one's I had that had an inner was some quiksilver ones where the inner was held in by Velcro but every time you pulled your hand out the inner was coming with it whether you liked it or not, very annoying! So changed to Quiksilver Carpals with no inner and they were amazing but they are now heavily worn out.

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

Have tried many different pairs and now have 2 firm favourites

Hestra - When really cold, think they are called Army leather gloves. Do find them too warm for me at times but if you like toastie hands definately worth the money. Got them on-line for about GBP60 in the end.

North Face Montana - When a little warmer, but to be honest these would do for all conditions, just found a pair at an outlet store for GBP15 so couldn't say no!

Hopefully will last quite a while now as long as I don't keep slicing them open with the ski edges.

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

I have Salomon leather gloves and I also have Salomon leather mittens...Had the gloves 4 years and the mittens three years. They are very warm (mits keep my hands slightly warmer) and they are both still in great condition...It looks like I'll get many years of wear out of them! :)

I'd definitely recommend North Face.
I am thinking about changing mine as they are getting a bit worn...after 5 seasons.
Ok, I'll admit I didn't ski on every single day of the 5 seasons but they have been nice and warm and very hard wearing.
They are only worn out on the thumb and index finger of the right hand where I hold my skis.
I see the Montana glove is mentioned, does any one have any experience with the Hoback or Decagon models?

Re:Gloves! I just can't decide

I've had 3 pairs of gloves, and the last 2 have been Reusch. I only got them because they were ridiculously cheap (GBP30 down from GBP95) and have been really good. Unfortunately the finger tips wore out, so I found another pair (GBP25 from GBP75) without the inner gloves but just as good and have had them 2 seasons.
I am after some white leather gloves now, and will basically buy the ones which look right and feel the most comfortable. Its looking like Hestra so far.

It was a North Face Outlet at Bicester Village in Oxfordshire.

I live local and pop in and out all the time and sometimes you get lucky with the Helly Hansen outlet and North Face outlets there. Used to be a Tog24 as well but that moved a little way up the road I have just found out, which is great for socks and the kids stuff.

Just got the OH a nice shell jacket from TOG24 for GBP19.99 reduced from GBP59.99.

I'm pretty much sorted at the moment so haven't been in there for a month or so so don't know if North Face have the gloves this year and at the same price.

Hi all I bought kombi jon olsson gloves last year in black they are a leather outer shell and are awesome. I have some ice breaker merino liners if it gets really really cold but as of yet liners still in packet. The leather on these gloves is so soft and the gloves are so nice fitting ie not bulky etc. iblack.http://www.snowfit.co.uk/product/Clothing/Mens/Gloves/KOMBI/JON-OLSSON-SUPREME-GLOVE/-9373

Russ
