boots-to buy or not to buy

Just thought id share a quick thought on the matter.

I bought a cheap second hand pair of garmont touring boots with a walk mode at the end of last season-had thought i might try to get some touring gear together for this season or use them for teaching as I thought they would be more comfortable than my own boots.
My other boots are atomic race boots-140flex, not much room in them but they have been extremely well fitted to my feet. after an hour of sheer hell last week at xscape in the other ones, this week i gladly slid my feet back into my atomics!
Moral of the story-
get your own boots, whatever you can afford but include getting them properly fitted into the budget!

Gutted as the garmont ones are actually quite easy to walk in!

Not long now for some-not me :-( but not long for some of you!

did you have any fitting done to the garmonts, footbeds, moulding etc etc...they may just need a bit of work to be great for standing around and cruising in

I moved the footbeds from my other boots into them but they do need blown and prob stretched a bit.
My other boots took so much work but it was easy because i was in Bormio and could take time to get them perfect!
Might get my local shop to have a look would be much easier to demo a snowplow in them than the atomics!
