Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

Morning guy's and girls,

I (like most of you I'm sure) have a number of different applications on my phone for snow forecasting but none of them seem to be that good. All of the ones I currently have still show Tignes as closed when we all know that is not the case.

Was just wondering if any one could recommend a good one, I don't mind paying if it is accurate.
On my Android phone I use rei forecast. Used it last year and was good. However as you say it too is showing tignes as closed. What type of phone do you have? I will be getting a different one this year

Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

I have an iphone and have the following apps (All free) Fizz Snow, Ski & Snow, Snow Report and REI.

The REI app has had a serious makeover this month as it was rubbish last season so fingers crossed it works this time round.

There are lots of paid apps for a few GBPGBP but I'm reluctant to pay (However little) for something that does not work
Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

I have Snoveo and REI apps on my iPhone. I also have a couple of apps from specific ski resorts, including Serre Che and St Anton which have live weather and webcams.
I've also got the Igulski app, but haven't used that except to review my booked holiday.

Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

I just downloaded the ski and snow one. They all say 3v are closed.

Prob is roaming costs of data while you are away. Unless have WiFi at a pub where the beer is prob the same price as the roaming costs! ;)

Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

I have a BlackBerry Curve 3G and have just looked at OnTheSnow and selected the 4 resorts I am interested in - Tignes, Courmayeur, Flims and Lauterbrunnen. Looks to be quite good.
Roaming data cost is not a problem - GBP15 for 30 days unlimited email worldwide. But as email is via the BlackBerry Internet Service this also includes www data and when I use it as a tethered 3G modem with my laptop. For the last 6 months I've been mostly abroad and use about 400mb on the phone and a further 500mb when as a 3G modem each month. No extra charge!!

Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

Yeh I tend to do the same with my iphone/ipad, keeps the costs down.

I'm guessing that these forecast apps wont start updating until December possibly once the majority of resorts open. But I would of thought that they take there information from sites such at this one. Very annoying as I like to keep an eye on all the resorts I have been to (Sad I know).
Re:Favourite snow forecast application for your phone

I just downloaded the app from Val Thorens website for purely VT. Looks really good, piste maps, make emergency calls, snow report, depths, built in gadget that measures speed through GPS. Looks like a good Toy

Will see if T-mobile do some kind of special deal for roaming data
