Early skiing?

Hi guys

Went skiing to Austria first time last year. Totally got the bug and would like to go before xmas if possible. Not very good so would like somewhere with beginner/ intermediate runs. Any idea of where would be good for early snow? I'm guessing high altitude but have no real idea.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Les Deux Alpes is good for intermediate/easy runs at high altitude.

Resort opens 03 December according to L2A website. Also, open for French holiday at end of October for 1 week.

Dobby

Switzerland is ideal you have a variety of different slopes to choose from and most are on your door step. The place i stay at in Adelboden has a nursery run and a blue run across the road.

Re:Early skiing?

Pre Christmas is always a bit of a gamble.
Go high.
A resort with a glacier will have some skiing even if the snow hasn't really arrived.
Snow making on runs back to resort is a big plus.
Just how far before Christmas were you thinking off?
Re:Early skiing?

I've been to Val D'Isere/Tignes most years for that past decade, second full week in Dec.
Not once have we had poor snow. We've lost a days skiing due to heavy snowfall (1.5M in 24hrs) closing the area!
We also had to put up with a strike closing most of the runs for 3 days!
But generally speaking we've had wonderful skiing.

We went to Lech for the pre-Christmas week three years in a row and lack of snow was certainly not a problem!
