Re:For all you French speakers..

Hi GummyBear
If your spelling is accurate and there are no accents above the e, it would be pronounced Roose (rhymes with loose, not with lose)
I got told off by a local a couple of years ago for pronouncing Les Carroz as caroz instead of caro.

Hope that helps.

Allie
Hi Gummybear,

I cannot vouch for it's accuracy, but if you use the language tools on google, you can get it to read the phrase you input. It seems to agree with Allie on the pronunciation, and does seem change if you add various accents.

Have a listen

Clicki Ici :)

By the way, it also funny to see how it thinks it is pronounced in "English".

Good luck with the job btw :)

Re:For all you French speakers..

I think there is a spelling mistake somewhere - it should be Grandes Rousses, because big is an adjective which has to agree with the noun, which is plural. And I also think, (although I'm not sure) that the 'd' in 'grandes' should be pronounced because it has the 'e' because Rousses is feminine as well as plural.

Rousses is a place, is it not, or else 'big red' doesn't make much sense.

Best of luck with the job :D

Ally

Re:For all you French speakers..

Rousse is an adjective connected with roux. (red) As an adjective, it cannot have a plural. So Ally is correct, it must refer to a place name, unconnected with roux.
