What is your idea of 'good night life' on a skiing holiday.

Mine is; a good meal followed by some singing and dancing with a little bit of alcohol...What's yours? :D

Skiing off the slopes and straight into a warm log fired bar with the lush smell of mulled wine on the hob. If not vin chaud/gluewein, then cocktails all round!!!
Lots of friendly chatty gregarious folk discussing their day on the piste.

Interesting question, as "good night life" means to me a resort where theres a lot of bars and places to go in the evening. In which case, the answer would be St Anton or Mayrhofen for instance.

However, if you're asking what it is I like to do once off the slopes, as most people appear to have answered, then its 4 or 5 beers straight from skiing, back to the chalet/hotel for a sauna/hottub with another beer in the tub, shower, dinner and vino, and maybe a card game or just some banter with friends/fellow guests, and some tunes on in the background.
Vodka may also be involved at some stage.
Nightclubs are a definite no no.

A few apres beers in a slopeside bar is definately one of the things that makes skiing in Europe so enjoyable. We had the pleasure of discovering a good bar like this just below the first station of the Furi that goes to Schwarzsee Paradise. I can't remember what it was called but it is on the left as you go down the narow red piste that winds it's way along almost the same path of the Furi. It has quite a big permanent outside bar and another bar inside on two levels. There was a bit of live music. We met some nice people in there. It almost made up for the lack of snow.

It's called the Hennu Stall (chicken coop).

It's usually pretty lively, often has live music and you can get 11 shots for CHF 50.

I'd not be too worried Tony. Zermatt has plenty of mileage at altitude. You could always ask the resident J2ski representative 8)

Thats the place. I remember almost breaking my neck on those stairs! And I remember something about a chicken.

Great place. Good mix of friendly people. Reasonable beer prices (for Zermatt).

It's Switzerland, the Euro is occasionally accepted, but at an exchange rate disadvantage to the CHF )

Hi,

MMMmmmm a good night you say ??? , would have to be a hot bath , and a short nap , punctuated with a couple of beers, then out for some food at either Ski Roc , Le rufuge or Hostellerie du Petite Saint Bernard then across the road to Bazoom's for a 4 hour set of live musice from Mr Orange or Sugar Lady ( two of the best live bands I've seen anywhere in the Alps )....

.....washed down with a few pitchers of beer and several large Genepi's...

Followed by a lay in the following morning for an extra couple of hours :(

Krazy Kanguruh, St. Anton? Been there but never peed in the gents :oops:

On topic, finish up at 4.30, bar up top, let the piste control do there final run and tilt down the mountain ;-) only in a group though. Apres ski, Austrian style till about 9pm, be awoken by the local bobby in a field at 10pm, apologise and head for the nearest bar. Killer..

I did have to be helped into a taxi by two elderly ladies out walking their dog once after two too many in the Roo bar in St. Anton......the short ski down must have taken me about 2 hrs :D
