Resort Advice

Hello

I would be really grateful for some advice.

The two girls we ski with require easy slopes, and I would like a snow sure resort. We have been to Valdesare, Tignes and Corcheval. Corcheval was really good and by far the best as the girls could ski the easy slopes and had a lot of variety.

Question:- Where else could we go which is as good as Corcheval for the girls i.e. lots of easy slopes and is a snow sure high altitude resort.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hey John,

I thought I'd get in touch as I've been skiing for many years and currently still work in the industry.

So you've hit some pretty major resorts already, Val/Tignes and Courchevel. For an easier ski I would suggest possibly looking at Alpe D'Huez as they have loads of wide greens that run into the resort centre, in fact many of the ski runs get harder the higher up you go, so you can also keep your bearing on how challenging it's going to be where you are. Also it has neighbouring resorts such as Vaujany and Oz en Oisans which are pretty fun and not too nasty.

You could also try La Plagne as the resort runs are pretty easy and its quite hard getting stuck at the top of Black with nowhere else to go.

My final choice would be Les Gets in the Porte du Soleil, not only are the resort runs pretty easy but it links up to Morzine which again is quite nice to ski.

What do you reckon?

Thanks for reply I thought everyone was ignoring me.

We have been to some major resorts but the ladies found Tignes difficult and whilst Valdisare was good for them they could not ski back to the resort.

I will have a closer look at the resorts you have suggested. The good thing the ladies found with Corcheval 1850 was the greens and a few blues were managable and they could travel a long way without going up and down same runs all of the time, added to that the resort is (I think) fairly snow sure, which is very improtant to us one time a year skiers.

We have been looking at Alp d'Heuz for a while now and whilst everone says the greens are pleantiful my concorn would be that are they all up and down just like long nursery slopes unlike Corcheval?

Is Les Gets a snow sure area ?

ADH is a cracking resort for all abilities. The greens into the village are like blues most other resorts, and theres plenty of blues and reds around to please everyone. Plus it spreads out in different directions so it feels like a number of ski areas linked together. Thoroughly recommended.
