I have bought cheap ones for my boy, ,,,they do say they have UV filter....just dont want to spend lots of money on kids sunglasses for him to lose them during the week. The chances of which are high.!!javascript:emoticon(':D');

Re:sunglasses for a 10 year old son

My nine year old will normally wear goggles as she skis wearing a lid, although we would normally keep a pair of sunnies for her with us she very rarely wears them.

Re:sunglasses for a 10 year old son

 know exactly what you mean - 12yo went through 2 pairs in one week - still got the final ones bought though (+4years)
So - one weeks skiing = 3 pairs of sunglasses, one UK and not expensive, 2 x Morzine and about GBP30.
And don't mention gloves left in lifts, hats ........
lift passes (but always managed to find these).
Forgotten where skis left (that was @16yo when beer was a major consideration).
Oh and forgot where he was staying @14yo when given a little freedom in resort.
Oh yes ......
Went for ski on own as parents were being boring. 40 min ski back to resort became 4 hours, we were never quite able to work out exactly where he had been but it was quite a journey.
Kids????
Love 'em

Re:sunglasses for a 10 year old son

Oh and on topic - I take a selection of my old stuff for emergencies, hats, goggles, glasses, gloves etc. Then there is a spare to hand when needed.
Mind you OH is as bad, lost count of the number of times we return to restaurants to pick up kit left behind.

Re:sunglasses for a 10 year old son

I know there are people here who think that you what you pay for, But sunglasses have marks ups in the thousands %. Safety glasses with a UV400 rating will have similar performance to expensive sun glasses, plus are designed to be safe during impacts. They also make them look cool these days. Might be a UK supplier like this.

http://www.kidssafetyeyewear.com/

Re:sunglasses for a 10 year old son

My son doesnt ski in sun glasses , they would just be for sitting around at lunchtime out on the Piste etc etc. In March/April sun is really strong... He always skies in goggles.
OldAndy ... you make me laugh,,,,its so so true,, little devils , they lose everything....and so true, girls generally are a bit more switched on about their belongings,,,er ,well......except for my daughter, who even at 20 yrs old still looses everything. . .
On a binge drink night in London she has lost :-
Passport, Provisional drving license, purse, money, bag, blackberry phone (now on her 4th) and keys....!!

Tropicana - I feel for you
Sounds like my wife - Bleackberries seem to go for a walk on their own - including down the toilet (don't ask).
I keep a spare now as she cries when separated from her crackberry.
Mind you the present one has lasted 5 months ....
