DIY ski tuning bench

Just thought i would throw this up on the board, seeing as ski tuning benches and vises are so expensive, yet tuning your own skis is relatively easy and cheap. And needless to say your skis will perform so much better if regularily waxed. I made this bench so that i could tune inside my house without wrecking the floor with wax and metal filings. Works like a dream and has been in use for two seasons and hundreds of tunes. (family of five skiers!)

Click here for the huge picture!
[Please use smaller images in posts, and link to larger ones, tvm - Admin]

As well there are a couple of links to good basic tuning sites on the blog as well. Happy tuning.
http://chris-cbphotography.blogspot.com/2011/01/diy-ski-tuning-bench-and-vises-1.html
Nice photo , but did you have to make it the same width as the length as your skis. :-)

Re:DIY ski tuning bench

I am lucky that I used my 190cm skis instead of my kids 130's as a template or it might not have been as effective. Although it would have been a lot lighter and more compact. ;)
