Hey guys!
I'm living in Slovenia, thought that you could use this info:
if you want to go skiing in Slovenia please note:
ski resorts are small but close, they have in avarege 85 skiing days, snow falls late, resorts close down late, accept for Kanin, that usually runs to 1st of May.
Next thing you should know, the ski lifts are old, the lines are big, and they often broke down. Accomandations are getting better, but don't expect something of high class, next- be carefull on the slopes, Slovenians aren't nice and don't care about other people, so if you hit someone, they're gonna sue, even if they would obviously loose. Next, our ski resorts don't have lift connections (from lift to lift), so you have to walk. The longest walk in my country is i think 250 meters. Also, every single one of our ski resorts is in deep financial crisis, since the 1990's, so you go there to sky, not to play hockey or go to the movies. Overall, it's better if you go skiing to France I think, but our lifts are beautifull, and old-style, so it's an experience. We have a total of 56 working Graffer lifts, 42 doppelmayr lifts, 39 Leitner lifts, and a bunch of other types.

Have fun, and what ever you do, DO NOT VISIT SORIŠKA PLANINA, the ski resort sucks!

That is some high quality sales pitch at work... Do you think he/she works for the Tourism Board..?

I visited there last winter to have a look, and have to say that the review is about right. I didn't get sued though, so overall it was a successful visit.
