I use a helmet and wrist gaurds although i do think they can make you over confident! have to keep reminding myself that i can still get hurt. Each to their own i guess. :D

If people are that worried about protection I would have thought back, neck as well as head would be sensible 8)

Wickers, I'm getting the impression that you have some disdain for skiers and boarders who seek to protect themselves from injuries caused by their own actions or actions of others? I'm not sure why that should be though, do you wear a helmet on your bicycle?

Think that's a bit harsh Bandit considering some of the statements here.

Finn's statements are what worry me most about people wearing lids who haven't grown up in them - over confidence and a feeling of 'invincibility'.

I was just looking at his comments overall....

I have been skiing a few years, I've put a tip in the snow a couple of times and I have never hit my head and I have put that down to football and knowing how to fall,

I learnt to read at an early age so I understand your point completely, and as I have stated I have yet to hit my head on any piste I have skied,

I have seen arm, back, leg protection, I guess in a political correct society we will soon be dressed a bit like Robocop.

Thats a very strange statement, does it really worry me that other people think I am out of touch cause I don't wear a helmet, answer no, your not a helmet salesman by any chance

Just my 2p's worth. I'll dip out of this thread FNO, as my views seem to be contentious.
