Hope to get out to Jasna soon, no date planned yet. Anybody know what conditions are like at the minute, or know of reliable websites for webcams, current conditions and weather?

I was up there today. Pistes are in excellent shape. Off-piste is okay, in need of some fresh snow (as is all off-piste everywhere all the time). Slopes empty....

Thanks for the link

Will probably be another 6 weeks or so before we head out, but glad to hear there's a good base of snow in.

Empty slopes! That's what like to hear :D

Just got off the phone from Inghams. I was happy with the price they give me until they started adding on the ski pack. €167 for lift pass for both High and Low Tatry and €84 for ski's only. These are not the price's I got off Tatry Tourist Information.
If the snow is good for off piste I don't think I'd bother with the High Tatry, but Inghams said that they don't do a lift pass for Low Tatry only.

So am I better getting the Lift pass I want when I get there? Or is there really only one lift pass?

The Tatra ski pass pretty much covers all the Tatra resorts (Hi and Low). But in reality, the High Tatra resorts are very limited. Jasna in the Low Tatras is by far the most extensive and decent enough for a holiday unless you are a big-resort motorway type....
My ski rental place do full kit (carver skis) for €66 the week. 6 day-ski pass is €145.

Hi chaletslovakia,

I've been tracking the snow, news and webcams on the Jasna official site since we booked our holiday a couple of months ago (we are coming on the 15th Feb).

How come the full 34km hasn't been open yet all season? It's been between 16 and 22km since the turn of the year. Is it due to lack of snow or high winds or both?

Also a lot of the drag lifts seem to be closed most of the time?

Sorry for the 20 questions!

Thanks.

Hi Red,

The lifts are all open unless there is wind. They were open all last week (except a few redundant drags that have been superseeded by chairs), which only open if the mountain is really busy.

Been snowing all weekend here....
