Didn't mean to sound as if I look down our the soft hatted bretheren, but just about everyone I know who is good at skiing/boarding wears a helmet these days. It's just human nature to make assumptions about people based on appearance

because I'm so inclined .....

At my ski resort. Wish I could wear mine whilst manning my lift ( One of them don't work so good  )
At another resort that I don't know. Yes

Tino, that glacier is the reason why I wear one
Uh oh, I think I broke'd the lift

Welcome to the forum. However, why would you encourage everyone to wear a helmet?
My best purchase ever were my boots last season.

Tony it's as simple as this, I remember being reluctant to move over to carvers but in the end I did & found the whole experience of skiing a lot more fun. I too was reluctant about wearing a helmet but in the end found the whole skiing experience to be heightened from the feeling of security you get when you wear one. The only time the helmet thing really bothers me is on warm skiing days, small price to pay really. Be safe & keep the elements, wear a helmet. That's my view but at the end of the day it's personal choice.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Mark may have been more suitable :-D

It might be down to the helmet as well, is yours well ventilated? I find mine fine anywhere below zero but as soon as it starts to warm up it is a little uncomfortable (these are the situations where I would maybe be less likely to wear one). Also wouldn't wear one teaching beginners.
