Now then, was meant to be on a train to Zermatt at 2.48pm, ened up on one 3 hours later due to work. Was starting to regret the little extra I had paid for a pool and sauna etc. @ 71 EUR per night rather than a room with no balcony for 52 EUR.

Arrived at the Horn at 20.20. A little tipsy but nothing desperate. Walked Tara to the Best Western Alpin Hotel and proceeded to check-in. "Ah, Mr Roberts", "Sorry a bit later than expected", "no problem", "you are in the nebenhaus". Charmin' I thought, and said. "No worries, your room is fine".

Too bloody right, got the top floor appartment, you could keep a family of twelvety in here!!!

So nice in fact, I'm gonna have a bath and kill the minibar. They obviously prioritize previous guests, and christ, in France this would cost 300 EUR a night.

Get to know a resort, show your face and as Dave Mac said, it dont need to be expensive.

Can I come too, please?

Oh, and when I said

, it seems to have taken me rather longer than it took you, to get halfway to where you are now. If you see what I mean.

I have mentioned my first N. season, two guys in a small room, cooking on the room oil heater. I might have forgotten to mention where for two weeks I slept in a cupboard, single mattress on the floor, plus one ft of space on one side. Close the door, and it's totally dark. It was free, and I had no money. I had food, ski gear, and a lift pass.

At the time, I thought that was a good result.

Have a good one Tino.

I know its supposed to be about the amount of snow, and the quality of slopes, but a luxurious room and hotel certainly counts. Good on ya Tino

I was very happy to see that on the TV this morning, and the weather at Schwarszee was nice, however -17C and 70km wunds at the top, the first 800m of the run from the KM lift station was glass
