Just came back from Slovakia, where my family and I went skiing for a week.
We had an amazing time staying at chaletslovakia.com in Liptovsky Mikulas and skiing at the Jasna resort.
The ski resort was very good with well groomed pistes and modern ski lifts plus the added bonus of loads of snow.
The food and drink was very cheap despite the currency now changing to the Euro. A pint of beer was less than 1 EUR in most places and a meal was around 4-5 EUR. The food on the resort and in the town was surprisingly good and we never had a bad meal, even satisfying my 2 fussy sons aged 10 and 14.
Unfortunately, I tore the ligaments in my knee on day 2 of the holiday. I would like to thank our hosts Dan and Clare from chaletslovakia.com for their support and assistance, they really did go beyond the call of duty, taking me to the hospital and waiting with me, driving me to restaurants in the evening and generally keeping my moral high. They provided us with a great holiday and are fantastic couple who can't do enough for you.
As soon my knee is fixed we will be returning either in the summer or the winter season.

Never had such a good week with an injured party....
Let me know how that knee turns out, Steve. Fingers crossed you'll keep the leg...
Hopefully see you again.

Somoan's sounds like a fancy new type of theme pub in trendy parts of London....
That name rings no bells....
Where / what is it?
