Hi,

I dont get much choice on when I get to holiday due to my mrs job, so we have these dates booked off for the new season:

21/02/2009 --> 02/03/2009

So could do with some advice on where to go? Anywhere in North America is an option really.

Was thinking of Killington but it maybe too cold, I did Lake Tahoe last year and have always wanted to go to Whistler but people are saying it can get busy there now.

Any advice is greatly welcome :)

We are all pretty decent Skiers, were not talking off piste but can do any groomed slopes in Europe. Apres Ski is a big bonus (Thats where killington came to mind)

What do you want from a ski hill? Forget Killington-East coast snow is sh*t. Personally I'd head to Jackson although I don't think their chances of haing 2 epic seasons in a row are great soo maybe Altabird would be a laugh or perhaps an extended stay in Revvy.

well we are all good skiers so want some nice semi-challenging runs. Not all double blacks maybe a good selection of blacks. Love long wide black runs.

Apres-ski is a must, well at least some bars to go to after!

where is the snow good at that time of the year?

That's like asking what the weather forecast will be half a year ahead. At that time of year you generally can't go wrong, i'd be surprised if any of the major resorts were lacking snow.. North America isn't renowned for having excellent night life. Perhaps somewhere like Whistler/Blackcomb may suit you-you 'll probably get some good deals around about then. Jackson Hole could be a winner but lacking in the nightlife stakes.

yeah i realise i cant judge the future weather, but if someone says it will be too cold for the east try the west or east will be fine just wear some thermals etc.

just wanted people opinions really.

It won't be too cold anywhere in NA late Feb early March. I just wouldn't consider going east at all for vert/snow/apres whatever. Happy picking-there are a couple of North America residents kicking about here so no doubt they will give you a hand soon enough.

I think you're definitely better off across the pond as some british schools will be on half term and quite a lot of france will be too so it'll be a tad on the busy side!

Haven't been there myself though (yet) so can't recommend anywhere I'm afraid.
