For the sake of what is prob 3 euros per day its well worth it. If you need to be medivacted off the slopes there is no hassle with who is going to pay or need for you to pay up front.
For instance if you need to be helicoptered off the slope it costs about £1000. If you have the ski pass insurance its covered so no hassle.
Just try getting your travel insurance company to refund you £1000.

Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.

Mind you, I should add, if the world and its mother came skiing in the uk they would get free evacuation and free medical care from our 'international rescue' and 'international health' services!
We really are mugs are we not?

As previous comments it depends on your personal insurance. We are covered but still always buy the "Assurance" on the day - it has proved invaluable: if you have an accident you simply show the ticket and no further questions asked- the rescue teams simply swing into action and youre off the mountain and being treated.....
