Hi guys

Looking to buy some ski gear for my daughter. Some keenly priced Nevica gear available in Sports Direct.

Does anybody have experience with this brand? Is it any good?

Thanks

I might be wrong but I think Nevica is actually owned by Sports Direct now which is why it is so cheap. I have some thermals by them which are fine. Good luck in your choosing. Sports direct also sell end of line equipment by other makes cheap, keep an eye out for their offers too.

I kitted out mini-me with Nevica gear a couple of seasons ago and think it's good value for the money. Jackets, pants, gloves, fleeces, etc. all seem to be reasonable quality, warm enough and weather-proof for normal conditions. It's lasted well so far and IMO looks better than some other budget brands. He likes the colours too, so all good...

Only issue we've had is the coating on the goggles seems quite soft and scratches easily, but they're cheap so...

Nevica were a brand that disappeared years ago..maybe mid 90's.
It was ok back then but tech has moved on considerably.
Its market is likely to be cheaper end but the one area you probably dont want to skimp is base layer and gloves imv and expecting gloves to last if you cant rotate them is fraught with issues if they never dry properly. Fresh socks and dry gloves always is my motto.
If you can pick of a name brand like oldo, scott or Me etc from the likes of tk maxx, decathlon or Sports direct then grab a bargain.

Aldi have had skiwear on offer recently. Cheap but decent quality.

Mountain warehouse is another option for sensibly priced kit.

The cynic in me says there is rarely a linear progression beteen price and quality where ski wear is concerned. Indeed it could be argued that in some cases you are paying most of the price for the logo and advertising and very little of it for the manufacturing.

Just make sure it's breathable and waterproof (The higher the better for both)

2 pairs of gloves are always a good idea so that you can have a pair drying out one day to use the next.
