Crystal Add Additional Austrian Resort to 2019-20 Selection

J2SkiNews posted Aug-2019

Crystal have added the Austrian resort of Hopfgarten, part of the SkiWelt region, one of Austria's biggest with 286km of linked slopes, to their long list of destination choices for 2019-20.

The company had previously announced they were adding an area called the Drei Zinnen or '3 Peaks' in the Italian Dolomites.

Hopfgarten is a traditional Austrian village the fifth resort offered in the SkiWelt area by Crystal, the company says.

The resort is just over an hour's transfer from Innsbruck and an hour and a half from Salzburg. The company is offering holidays in the Sporthotel Hohe Salve, which has a big emphasis on wellbeing, and The Familotel, which as its name suggest is good for families.

Drei Zinnen, located close to the Austrian border in Italy has 110km and Crystal are offering holidays with flights there from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick and Manchester airports.

So far there have not been any great revelations in terms of new destinations from the UK's big operators.

One of the more adventurous long haul options is the addition of the classic Japanese ski area of Nozawa Onsen by Inghams.

Hopfgarten is connected directly into the Skiwelt area and would be an excellent base to access the entire area which I think is great. Probably not as lively as Soll but I am sure that there would be a couple of decent pubs. Obviously apres ski is not the highest priority for many people.
