I'd like to go here for x country and downhill. I need catered accommodation/ hotel as I'm a solo skier. Any thoughts?

Ruka is excellent.
Mostly self catering but there us definitely one accommodation that does catered, at two different village restaurants. I think it may be Ruka Inn. Check on Crystal

We've skied both Ruka and Levi in Finland. Ruka is quite a bit smaller than Levi but we enjoyed both resorts. Levi is a bigger ski area and has more X country routes. Hope this helps.
