Hi all

I am new to the forum, my wife and I are going to Venice early February and looking to ski as well. Any tips on where and how? We usually book a package holiday but we may need to plan it ourselves? There seem to be some ski fields with 2 hours of the airport. Your experiences and advice are appreciated.

Regards

Darron

Hi Darren,
if you're driving, in a couple of hours you should be able to get to Zoldo Alto which is part of the skiarea Civetta. I have never been, but I hear it's beautiful with nice, long runs. If you do manage to go, you can give us a full report :)

Thanks

Cortina d'Ampezzo looks to be one of the closer resorts to Venice (2 hours from the airport according to google maps). If you are prepared to travel a little further, pretty much anywhere on the Sella Ronda will give you access to wonderful almost limitless skiing.

Cortina is the only real option the rest of the Dolomiti superski and Madonna is about 5 hrs ..Cortina has a regular bus service

Hi Daved

This info is great for me to plan our trip. I think cortina looks a good resort and can be travelled to with a regular service

Thanks again

Hi, there are quite some nice ski resorts reachable from Venice in less than 2 hours. Cortina d`Ampezzo might be the closest, furthermore, Alta Badia or 3 Cime Dolomites isn`t that far away. Have fun skiing in Italy!
