Hi everyone,

I'm considering a last minute weekend trip to Andorra but I'm a bit worried about the forecast - heavy snow and up to 70km winds (at summit).

Do you think the resorts will open?

Where are you seeing that?

There's a fair old storm (heavy snow) forecast for the Alps but Andorra's not looking too dramatic; it's 5 days ahead so going to change but forecast is for anywhere between 5cm and 30cm next weekend and the forecast winds (for Andorra) don't look strong enough to worry the lifties?

Thanks for the quick response.

I saw it on Soldeu.com snow forecast. see snapshots attached.

How relevant are the 'upper' forecasts? I'm intermediate/advanced so don't really want to be confined to lower resort runs.

Don't want to contradict you Admin, but local talk is of a big storm heading Soldeu way this weekend!

Yup, forecast has upped the snowfall considerably since yesterday (50cm+ on the cards) - may not quite be on the scale of the Alps this week but you're certainly looking good for the weekend.

Probably will be enough to disrupt the roads at times but I don't know how vulnerable to the winds the lifts are; what do you reckon Brucie?

You can pretty much guarantee that the road from France will be closed if the snow that is forecast materialises. So the only access to Soldeu/Pas will be via Spain. On the subject of the lifts, they are pretty vulnerable unfortunately, above mid station(2200m). In fact the upper lifts and links were closed this morning and the wind didn't seem too bad below 2200m. They opened up however and a good days skiing was had.
Noticeably warmer in Soldeu today!
