Hi, I am a moderately advanced skier and have always opted for glasses rather than goggles as weirdly I find goggles a bit claustrophobic. Probably because you can't sideways glance as you can do with glasses. However in recent years struggled in low light and frequently get the shocked when you shift your weight to turn thinking its flat when in fact it is bumpy.
As with anything the more you spend on the gear the it is likely to be. I don't mind spending the money but googling finding prices in the region of £150. Is this correct? Or can I find a reasonable pair for under £50. I don't want to spend the money only to find I don't get on with them and then that's wasted money. Rose/Copper seems to come up in most searches.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As you can imagine they come in all price ranges.

I would personally not buy off web, if you wear a Lid you need to make sure that they fit comfortably on the helmet and there's no annoying gaps. Also, depending on if you have a big or small face/head some look a little odd

I have a pair of Scott with interchangeable lenses depending on conditions.

I have an orange type lense for general wear, however I have heard that in flat light yellow or Even clear is a better option. I have enough things to play with when skiing (and drop off lifts) without worrying about changing lenses!!

Be interested to hear the opinions of others tho :)

Wot he said........
Need to try on, especially if you use a helmet. I prefer the orange/yellow colour.
Within reason price makes a difference. You MUST have double skinned lenses to stop fogging up.

I echo what the Ice and Andy have said, double skinned, and try first. I wear dragon APX which interchangable lenses, very comfy and easy to swap the lenses. I tried them on in the UK then searched round and found a ski shop in Las Vegas (I kid you not) that beat all prices easily, including P&P too.
Good luck in your search.

Summit magnetic interchangeable lenses work well, come in small or larger sizes, and come in at £90 or less. They are at the functional rather than fashion market point.
I would strongly recomend them!

I very occasionally ski with sunglasses on but A) think I look like an idiot with sunglasses and a helmet and B) always get watery eyes at speed as not all of the wind is deflected by the lenses.

Therefore have skied with goggles for years and echo all the comments above. I have had cheap goggles where the foam surround has started to degrade after not much use or where fogging is terrible or where the lens just doesn't cope with anything other than ideal conditions.

About 6 years ago I bought a pair of Oakley (A frames?) with their persimmon lenses, cost a bomb at the time but as others have said they fit my helmet and are supremely comfortable.

I've skied in bright sunshine and in white out and although not perfect at the extremes I've never thought about changing lenses around. This year I have considered changing both helmet and goggles but both are going strong (I think that I probably should change the helmet just because of it's shelf life) so the investment spread over 6 years isn't that bad!

Oakley A frames with Persimmon lenses are also good. Can be bought from Amazon at practical prices too!
