Soldeu - Hotel Maistre March-2018

Hi I have been skiing in Soldeu twice before in January 2012 & 13,staying at the hotel Himalaya.
This time March 2018 I am looking at staying at the hotel Maistre. My budget is smaller this coming year.
what are your thoughts on the Maistre hotel ? Has anyone stayed there before ? I know its smaller and there is no swimming pool etc. As long as its clean and warm at night I will be happy ski bunny.
What is the food like and is it a buffet self service ?
Where is the cheapest place to buy lift passes ? Can you still buy them online with lunch vouchers ?
