Huge Snowfalls in Australia
Login
Australia is seeing its third, and biggest-yet, major snowfall in the past five weeks.
Up to 1.3 metres (52 inches) of snow has fallen so far at the country's ski areas in the past 72 hours and the storm is still going strong.
Thredbo has reported the biggest snowfalls but all of the leading areas have had at least a metre of snow.
Coming on top of the big august snowstorms, bases are now around the 2m mark (very good for Australia) and almost every lift is operating and every run in the country open.
Conditions are being described as, "the best for 17 years" at the country's largest resort, Perisher (pictured top).
We're in to the last month of the season at most Aussie areas, although Perisher has announced a week's extension, so far, to their 2017 season, now running to October 8th.
