Thinking of la villa. Family of 4. 2 want easy time on blues. I want easy time on blues and reds. Daughter wants reds and blacks. Going half term (week after italian half term). Not fussed about apres.

Good choice. As long as daughter gets up and out earlyish, she can get to lots of red and black (Portavescovo side of Arabba, or Selva). A lot of Alta Badia is blue. Grooming is always good. I think a gondola links from the village - in which case tired legs could get an easy time back to base. Need the Dolomiti Superski pass to access the other valleys.

Cheers, all. Now to convince the family that it's worth spending the extra money compared with a trip to La Thuile.

1200km piste on 1 pass. Large amounts (think about 750km) doable with skis on. Phenomenal grooming and snow making. Great food. Stupidly pretty scenery.

Agree with all the above. It's a lovely, vast, varied and well looked-after area Dobby. You'll love it. I will be spending as much time as I can get away with there this winter.
