Ski school in Auffach?

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a ski school in Auffach that offers group lessons? Looking at the map doesn't help and google is not giving me anything immediately local. I know there are schools nearby in Niederau but this won't help me much as I am staying in Auffach.

I think there's a learners area at the mid station of the Shatzbergbahn. Alternatively it's almost gondola all the way to Alpbach. One piste and a chairlift between Shatzbergbahn and the connecting gondola. It's a wide piste so do-able if you have some ski skills.

Thanks for the info. I do have some skills but not enough to really enjoy myself. The wide run you are talking about sounds very useful indeed as long as it isn't red or black. It does appear you are talking about run number 4 which is a blue. I have now found a school too.

I was there last week but only skied through the mid station of the schatzbergbahn S1 without stopping as it's a bit of a plateau but I got the impression that's where the learners were and s6 s7 s8 are there for them. If heading to InnerAlpbach you take the Schatzbergbahn S1 gondola then red piste 6 to S2 chairlift then the connecting gondola down to Inner and finally the Poglbahn gondola up to the ski schools. The skiing is excellent for developing your skills. Most of the runs are reds and they are steep but they are lovely and wide. Which allows you to pick your own line either gently traversing or straight down nutter style.

Yes you are right, the width should allow me to ski reds by taking large turns and with 10 cm of snow falling on Monday, this should also make it easier.

I'm really excited to go now :)

The ski school is on the opposite side of the road from the gondola, and towards the village centre.

Thanks Dave. After several calls to incorrectly listed numbers on outdated websites, I managed to track down someone at a school that offers group lessons. We start tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait!
