Hello
Could anyone help with this resort please. I am looking for somewhere which has nice very easy run for a very nervous skier, does this resort fit the bill ?

Hello John . I'm Mick and we skied La Rosiere last year for the first time and frankly, for a number of reasons, we would never go back ... so I would enquire in what context your question is ... i.e. is it that you are a decent skier and looking for a a benign set of runs to leave a novice to their own devices or are you the novice?

Do tell more, have never really heard a bad thing about the resort before.

Quite possibly. I last skied there about 10 years ago, with a nervous beginner... and we're still friends so I think it worked out... 8)

If they're able to ski blues then they should be fine; there are some quite long blue runs and I don't recall them being particularly difficult (for blues).

Plus points for the nervous are great views and often very sunny to help the feel-good. Difficult to get lost.

Possible caveats include that it is exposed when the wind blows and the altitude and sunny aspect can give hard pistes first thing after a sunny day. And I don't think there's much to do if your nervous skier decides they don't want to ski every day.

I liked it and, although limited for the mile-munchers, there's some good skiing to be had there.

Hi
Thanks
So the wife needs easy greens similar to those in corcheval 1850 maybe a little harder but not much. Now looking at montgenevre which would be most suitable ?

Sounds like you're looking for a nice gentle resort and happy to just alternate between one or two pistes then somewhere like Arinsal is fine , or you may like Poiana Brasov (Rumania) or Bulgaria – these are all 'budget type resorts so you wont get too fleeced in the process. Unlike somewhere like Finland which is basically all pretty gentle … until, that is, you come to buy a beer!
Austria has more than its share of really 'beginner-friendly' places, and Kaprun is one that I can recommend for some gentle terrain and although Ive never actually skied it, Filzmoos seems to attract the terminally timid , year on year.

Ranchero "Do tell more, have never really heard a bad thing about the resort before."

In my humble … one of the few things to commend La Rosiere is the link to La Thuile , and from our collective experience the best Blues of the two and which are offering what you are looking for are over there. Problem is that more often than they tell you, this link is prone to closure due to wind a VERY windy gulley that can very easily mean being stuck in Italy. As far as the easy stuff in La Rosiere goes, a couple of the blues dropping down into the segmented village we noticed that when the La Thuile link was closed these Blues become very cut-up and too busy as traffic is pushed towards what seems like the easier of the options. and I suppose that to add frustration to my already jaundiced opinion about the resort, the coach journey from the airport was a total nightmare thanks to the Ski Beats coach driver whose ridiculous decision to stop off for 45minutes meant we exited the service station at the rear of a 6km tailback and arrived at the chalet a painful 5 hours after landing!

We skied here last year. We had a particularly nervous skier with us who really loved the place. We had a mixed ability group and every one of us really enjoyed it, the weather helped as we had lots of snow.
I think there is a free little lift for the green run at the bottom so might save a lift pass cost? Though I'm not 100%sure it was this resort, it's hard when you been to so many that they all merge into a confused tangle in my mind :)

I couldn't remark about the la thuile access from la rosiere as when we wanted to use it it was always open.
I came, I saw, I ate it
