Hi all, just looking for some advice.

We're off to Alpes d'huez this season and staying in the Bergers area of the town.

What is the best covered car park and does anyone have links / websites that can be used to book a space. I can't find any online booking.

I've been to numerous other resorts and driven several times. But finding and booking a car park this year seems particularly testing!!!!

Thanks

Hi Snowsnail.

I drove out to ADH last season and had some issues trying to book in advance. In the end we just went and ended up parking in one of the numerous free open air parks. Obviously it is busy on arrival day, so we managed to find somewhere to park until all the day skiers had departed, then we moved into the main park in Bergers even though we were up the top of the resort in Cognet. Only thing you need to be aware of if it parking outside, is if it snows. You may need to move the vehicle if they want to plough the carpark to keep it clear. Do not park on the street even though it looks like everyone is doing so, we saw many cars towed during the week.

If it helps, I got most of my information last year from here.. https://www.alpedhuez.com/en/winter/resort/parkings.html

Also, if you have not yet seen one, there is a reasonable map of the town here.. http://zielonko.org/bike/france_2000/alpevilmap.jpg

I used to have a place in Les Bergers so know it very well. There's an open air carpark near some of the self catering accommodation it has a daily and weekly rate. There a large free open air carpark opposite the main commercial centre which will have a lot of weekend and day trip cars in it. There is also a covered car park. Some parking on the side of the road, but be wary on the restrictions, and of the need to move your car for snow clearing. Never had a problem finding a space somewhere in Les Bergers at Xmas or new year but it might be different at Feb half term. I wouldn't worry about trying to book in advance.
