You might not be able to ski in a ski resort in winter, but there are some stunning swimming pools out there.
These are two of my favourites - firstly, the 50m outdoor pool in Chamonix. Swim one way with a view of Mont Blanc, back the other way for a view of Flegere/Brevent.
Second on my list is the pool in Les 2 Alpes. At 1600m it takes a while to get used to swimming at this altitude, but you know it's good for you!

During the winter the bumper cars on the ice rink at LDA are much more fun than swimming

Lake Passy, great for swimming and you can have a picnic as well.
