Have been coming to Soldeu for a about 8 years now and next trip is 21st
feb. Usually there is a group of 4-5 mates but this year everyone has
bailed out for various reasons. I can either cancel the trip altogether
and get back a tiny amount already paid or venture out there on my own.
Anyone have any thoughts about this? I am thinking it may be OK to still go as
i love my weeks boarding and have already paid but thinking its a bit sad going on my own lol

If i book into a group lesson course that could help

anyone else ever skied or boarded solo ?

any thoughts/comments appreciated

I haven't been on a solo ski holiday but have looked this year. Still haven't booked though, think it's different for a woman :-). Met a guy last year and he goes alone every year. He said he always books lessons because it's a good way to meet people. He seemed fine. I think skiers tend to befriend people, so I'm sure you'd meet someone to tag along with. Good luck :-)

Sociable place Soldeu. Not many pubs. You'll be fine on your own.

Thanks for the replies. My mind is made up I'm going to do it! I always stay at the Himalaia so nice and centrally located for the bars etc. Also was thinking i could always book a cheap easyjet flight home from barcelona on the friday making it a 5 day trip instead of 7.

And what are you waiting for Yve, book up now! at least i'll have someone to talk to apres ski lol

Never been to Andorra. All I know about it is its duty free. Did a bit research a long time ago but the ski areas sounded unappealing. Stay safe Stevievee and have a pint for me

Ski area is fantastic if you are looking for miles and miles of cruising runs. Nothing much to challenge an advanced skier/boarder but for everyone else I'd highly recommend it.

I'm always on a solo ski holiday. My wife doesn't ski and I usually go twice a year. Sometimes she comes with me but sometimes I go alone. Either way, I'm always by myself up in the slopes and I like the sensation that I can go anywhere I want and don't have to worry if the other one can handle that black piste that I love. But sometimes it's sad to be in the most beautiful sceneries in the world and have no one to share with.
I will be at Andorra too, but at the beginning of Feb.

hi i've skied all over the alps and austria in the past and boarded for last 8 years. yes sure the resorts aren't as glamorous as the alpine villages but don't be put off by the ski area itself. Over 200km of runs for all levels. Definitely plenty of advanced stuff if you know where to go. never had a problem with snow cover either, and its amazing how vastly improved the whole area has become over the last few years. Just don't stay in Pas if you are over 22 lol
