Has anyone been to Les Deux Alpes in April? Just wondering what the overall ski conditions are in this month. Thanks

Spent the 2nd week of April there about 5 years ago; didn't see a cloud all week! Expect classic Spring skiing, with snow conditions improving rapidly as you go up the mountain. If it's very warm (worst case) you might have to download by gondola but they've currently got over 2m on the upper slopes and should get a bit of a top up this weekend.

L2A has many of the beginner/early intermediate slopes up the mountain so if you/your family are early skiers then it's a great choice for late season skiing.

Many thanks TAM, much appreciated. We are intermediate skiers. It sounds as though there will be enough snow for us. Thank you again

We skied last Easter and are off in a fortnight again. The lower slopes were ok but a bit sparse in places. There was more than enough snow for the week and the area is big enough to keep you occupied. We took our motorhome to Venosc in the valley below and wore tshirts every evening until the sun went down. Les Deux itself was dry all week and we often sat outside in our tshirts. We wore less in the way of thermals and had just several thin layers on which we could take off or put on if needed. Up on the glacier is beautiful and the views are spectacular. Enjoy

Many thanks for the reply. Sounds just what we need. We are buying an RV to take out there next year. Does the campsite have electric plug-in or is it just a basic campsite. Hope you don't mind me asking but I'm trying to find sites in the Alps to stay. Thank you

I've just returned from LDA and lower down the snow is poor. Cretes and above is ok, but could do with a bit more snow to firm things up a bit.

That said, it has forecast snow on and off for the next couple of weeks, so you should be ok! :)
