First time to snowboard. Iceland

Heya all. I will be going to Iceland in a two weeks time and planning to snowboard over there! Problem is, this will be my first and I'm unsure of the procedure. So do I make the booking in advance, or can I just go there, rent the equipment and good to go? Many thanks in advance kind souls! (: And any tips as well would much be appreciated.

Definitely a fun country to visit, even if a little pricey. Not so sure about snowboarding/skiing though, visited in Winter before and was not something I saw advertised or even considered. Internal part of country if pretty flat, although I assume that there must be something in the North that comes down towards sea.
