Hi all

We will be staying in Munich around Christmas time and would like to go skiing. The average level of our party is advanced but we are not speed fiends. Access - We will have a rental car but may be interested in the skibus service. Does anyone have suggestions for suitable resorts?

Garmisch, Seefeld, Igls would seem to be your best bet, I haven't skied any of them so can't comment, good luck :)
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

If you travel south east on the Autobahn, past Rosenheim, come off at Kufstein Sud, about an hour. Then it is a short run, 15 min across to Söll, giving access to the Skiwelt.
Alternatively, continue on the back road from Kufstein Sud, (thus avoiding the autobahn tolls), to Wörgl, and then 7km up to Niederau, or up the valley to Auffach.

There are plenty of lovely medium sized mountains with cheap prices around here! Try Spitzingsee, Sudelfeld or Brauneck. Enough groomers to keep most happy and some lovely easily accessed back country at about 30euro a day! :D
