Middle-aged couple looking at area around Schliersee, Germany (50km from Munich) for short break as looks easily reachable by rail (Eurostar London-Paris, Sleeper Paris-Munich, then 1 hr connection to Schliersee. Town itself very low but am told skiing 1/2 hr bus-ride away at 1200m. Want to ski a bit, chill in the hotel spa a bit etc but wondering how reliable snow conditions are, how busy it gets for lift queues etc? With a max break of 3 days on the slopes, don't want to make wrong decision. Visited many of more popular French, Swiss and Austrian resorts in previous years so this sounds like a nice change. Interested in restaurants and quiet evenings, not partying! Any advice, experiences to share would be welcome.

Hello,

I go down to Schiersee fairly regularly as I live close to Munich. It is nice for a day trip but I think you would be disappointed to make a trip all the way from the UK.

There are only 2 chairs, the rest are drag lifts and the area is very small.

Save the trip for the summer when the area is very nice for hiking.
